Hopscroll app

Hopscroll is an Android app by Coreleap OÜ that turns travel posts you share, such as Instagram reels, photo posts and carousels or TikToks, into trip plans. This section explains what the app handles and why. It applies alongside the rest of this policy.

What we collect

• A random device ID. The app creates an ID the first time it opens and sends it with each request, so the server can keep your trips apart from other people's. It isn't linked to your name, email, phone number or Google account. Hopscroll has no accounts and no sign-in.
• Links you share and what we read from them. When you share a post, we store the link, its caption, the author's name, a cover image, and the places, notes and trip plan we make from it. The server downloads the post's photos to analyse them. On Pro, it also downloads the video and deletes the video file when processing finishes.
• Days the app was used. We record which days each device ID made a request, to count active users. We don't record what you looked at or for how long.
• Subscription status. If you buy Hopscroll Pro, Google Play gives us a purchase token. We use it to check the subscription with Google and store its status and expiry date. Google Play handles payment; we never see your card or payment details.
• Booking link taps. When you tap a tours or hotel link, we record which trip, place and partner it was for, so we can count clicks.

We don't collect your location, contacts, or the photos and files on your phone, and we don't use advertising IDs or analytics SDKs.

Who processes it for us

• Google (Gemini API) reads captions and photos and, on Pro, videos and their audio, to find the places in them.
• Photon by Komoot (OpenStreetMap data) receives place names and towns to find them on the map.
• OpenStreetMap tile servers deliver the map images to your phone, which means they see your IP address.
• Google Play handles subscriptions and payments under Google's own privacy policy.

These services only process data to provide Hopscroll's features. We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Booking links

Tours and hotel links open Viator or Booking.com. These are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. What you do on those sites is covered by their privacy policies.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your trips, places and shared links stay on our server until you delete them. You can delete a single post, a place or a whole trip in the app at any time, and it's removed from the server. To delete everything linked to your device ID, email hello@coreleap.digital with the ID shown at the bottom of Hopscroll's Settings, and we'll erase it within 30 days. Records needed for accounting, such as subscription status, may be kept as long as the law requires.

Security

The app talks to our server over HTTPS. The server runs in the EU.

Children

Hopscroll is meant for people aged 13 and over and isn't directed at children under 13.
